Thanks for all the support at last week’s Snowball everyone. We had a truly fabulous night full of solo performances by students and group performances from MicWire and The Baker Street Belles. Everything was 80s themed from the songs to the costumes to the food and the decor!
Students had the opportunity to perform solo, to sing backing vocals for others, or to simply come along and party. Four past students joined us for the night too and almost everyone joined in with the choir’s Christmas songs, which was wonderful.
As one of my lovely voice teacher colleagues, Grace, lives and mostly works in Liverpool, we invited her Crewe students along for the opportunity to perform with us. One of them joined us and really caught our hearts.
Songs performed throughout the evening included several awesome 80s classics such as Peace on Earth / Little Drummer Boy, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Time After Time, Take on Me, Don’t Close Your Eyes, Love is a Battlefield, Running Up That Hill, 2000 Miles, Step Into Christmas, Jessie’s Girl, Santa Baby, True Colours Beat It and Do They Know It’s Christmas?
Money was raised for local charity Chance Changing Lives during the raffle and dinner games. All prizes and photos were donated generously by local people and businesses including:
The Oakman Cheshire, Sanctuary SOS, Enzo, Gio’s, Voice Study Centre, Tropic with Kirstie Edwards, Pearl and Oak, Billy Smith, Phil and Carol Gadd, Sharon James, Sharon Sudlow, Sue Humphries, Kate Cubley and photos by Pete Robinson and Andrea Davies.
Sound and Lighting kit for the evening was lent to us, set up and managed by Grace Courtney and Phil Gadd providing the perfect atmosphere for the event.
